Centrum Paraple is a charitable organisation founded in 1994 by a Czech Actor, playwright and humorist Zdeněk Svěrák, in partnership with the Czech paraplegic association. Since then, the organisation has been helping people with spinal cord injuries who are wheelchair bound. The main service provided is residential social rehabilitation. The aim is to support clients in their independence and personal autonomy in daily activities and decision making on the degree of dependance on help from others.
